custom rom alcatel 985

After installing CWM and rooting your phone. You can now install a custom rom.s

these roms are for alcatel 918n(dual sim) but it will work to our unit(985n) by simply changing the boot.img and modem.

Requirements

1. Rooted phone with CWM installed.

2. Root Explorer. it can be found in our FILES tab.

3. custom rom zip files which has to be placed in your sd card

4. boot.img of your phone (you can extract your boot.img by booting into CWM and select backup and restore, select backup. make sure you have enough space for your bakup, approximately 300mb max) then after backup proced to extracting modem.img

5. modem.img of your phone . install root explorer first. then navigate to /custpack/modem find modem.img and copy it to your sd card.

6. open root explorer and navigate to /sdcard/clockworkmod/backup/name of your backup folder and inside your backup folder you should see boot.img, system.img and userdate.img and etc.. press the square button(not the home button) on the let side of ur hard keys. then select more and then press new file. name it as nandroid.md5

STEPS  

1. Boot into CWM. 

2. Wipe cache and factory reset 

3. install zip from sd card

4. select  the filenameof your rom (e.g. experia.zip, darkbreed.zip..etc) 

5. wait it until it finishes.

6. then go back to the main screen of cwm.

7. select backup and restore, .,  then select advance restore

8. restore boot.img only. 

9. then reboot your phone normally. (phone will boot longer than normal it is normal, about 7mins but it is just for the initial boot)

10. if it boots normally, install root explorer again. navigate to /sdcard then select your modem.img you rxtracted earlier. long press the modem.img then copy it to /custpack/modem folder replace the modem.img there or install this thru CWM . after you replaced it .. long press it slect change permissions. tick read and write for owner, as for group read only and as for others, read only. if you have dual sim phone(alcatel 985n) then install this thru CWM <a>https://www.facebook.com/groups/alcatel985/585480911531932/ if it starts,</a> using root explorer, navigate to /custpack/build.prop long press it and select open in text editor. navigate to the end part of the build.prop then change ril.current.share_modem=1 to ril.current.share_modem=2

save it then reboot.. 

ENJOY youR CUSTOM ROM installed PHONE.. 

as for jellydroid ROM, no need to change the boot.img an modem.img. it is already the ported version for alcatel 985
